Wet Bar

Custom wet bars with sinks, refrigeration, ice makers, and glassware storage.

Typical timeline: 3–5 weeks
Wet Bar
A wet bar is the difference between hosting and running to the kitchen every ten minutes. We design and build wet bars with under-counter refrigeration (True, Sub-Zero), ice makers, dedicated bar sinks, wine and glassware racks, and stone counters. Electrical and plumbing rough-in are included. Where practical we tie into existing lines; where not, we run new. Every install is code-compliant with GFCI protection, proper drain venting, and (if serving alcohol commercially) any applicable TABC requirements.

Why us

Why homeowners pick Modern Builders for wet bar.

Every wet bar needs proper plumbing — hot and cold supply, drain, and vent. We don't cheat the vent with an AAV in a location that could cause backflow. All refrigeration goes on a dedicated circuit. Sharing with a nearby countertop means nuisance-tripping every time someone runs the ice maker. Cabinet interiors get bar-specific inserts — stemware racks, bottle dividers, and drawer inserts for bar tools.

FAQs

Answers before you ask.

Do I need permits?+

Yes — plumbing and electrical permits. We pull and manage.

Can you add one to my existing basement or den?+

Yes — as long as plumbing can reach the space. We'll assess feasibility on site.

Ice maker or refrigerator with ice?+

Dedicated ice maker if you entertain often (makes 25+ lbs/day). Fridge-ice for occasional use.

Wine fridge — single or dual zone?+

Dual zone if you drink both reds and whites — each has its ideal serving temp.
